The Art of Nude Photography

The art of nude photography has been around for hundreds of years and is one of the most sought-after forms of photography. In 2012, nude photography became recognized as a “classical art form” by the World Art Academy. In 2013, photographer and film director Steve McCurry became the first person to receive a special prize from the Academy for nude photography. Nude Photography The nude photograph is essentially the artistic rendition of the human body. The photographer attempts to capture the human figure as it naturally appears. That can mean showing the skin, showing it all, or nothing at all. The art of nude photography can be broken down into three essential parts: posing, lighting, and exposure. Posing is where you learn proper body positioning and poise. Lighting is the part of the art in which you turn on the light, turn on the camera, and hit the shutter. Exposure is the final and most important part of the art in which you turn the dial to blend the light and the camera. The art of nude photography has been practiced for centuries and is currently one of the oldest art genres. Nude photography captures images of the human body as it exists in a state of complete nudity.
